Dentures in Deer Park, TX
Dentures are made of very natural-looking teeth secured to a gum-colored base. Our prosthetic specialist, Dr. Juston Reary, uses top-of-the-line teeth that look as natural as possible and are made of specialized material. When making dentures, the patient is always consulted when picking the new teeth so that we can give you a smile you’ll be proud to show off. The dentures can be secured with or without dental implants, but it’s best to speak with us in person to discuss all available options so that we can match your treatment plan to meet your expectations.

Taking Pride In Our Work
We want you to be happy with your new smile and for it to meet your expectations. To do that consistently, we have found that it takes a tailored and hands-on approach formed from years of experience. Our prosthetic specialist, Dr. Juston Reary, controls the process from beginning to end and arranges the teeth himself to ensure that your new smile is the way that it is supposed to be. This is an uncommon practice and is generally delegated to a laboratory technician. But, after doing this procedure hundreds of times, we feel that we can deliver a better, more predictable set of teeth by adding a more personal touch to the process.
Cost of Dentures
At TexSmiles Dental, our goal is to provide you with quality care at a fair price. We stand by our work and want you to be satisfied with your new smile. Dr. Reary specializes in the prosthetic replacement of teeth and has three extra years of training after dental school. The cost of dentures is commensurate with that experience and expertise.

Homecare Instructions
We spend a considerable amount of time coaching our patients both before and during treatment so you can feel confident in your new smile right away. Although the transition from teeth to dentures is slightly different for everyone, we do our very best to prepare patients for every step in the process. We want you to be informed, know what to expect, and what challenges you may run into. We will also give you detailed instructions on how to best clean and maintain your new investment. Below are some cleaning steps and things to avoid when using traditional removable dentures:
- Remove and rinse dentures after eating by running water over them to remove food debris and loose particles.
- Handle them carefully and don’t bend or damage the plastic or clasps when cleaning.
- Clean your mouth after removing dentures with a soft-bristled toothbrush.
- Brush your dentures once a day and soak them in a nonabrasive denture cleanser to remove food, plaque and other deposits.
- Soak dentures overnight in a mild denture-soaking solution to keep them moist. Dentures that are too dry can be prone to warping.
- Schedule regular dental checkups so your dentists can ensure proper fit, prevent slippage and discomfort and check the inside of your mouth to ensure it stays healthy.
- Avoid abrasive cleaning materials, toothpaste, and products containing bleach when you clean your dentures.
FAQs
Is it normal for my dentures to hurt when I wear them?
Absolutely not. If you are developing sore spots on a regular basis or having difficulty wearing your existing dentures, then we recommend having them evaluated by Dr. Reary to help find a solution.
If I need full dentures, how long will I have to go without teeth?
You will never have to go without teeth. If we determine that full dentures are needed, then there are ways to wear your new teeth home on the same day as surgery.
I’ve talked to several friends and family members who have dentures, and they constantly complain about them. Is that what I should expect, too?
There could be many reasons why they have issues with their dentures. Most commonly, the dentures do not seem to fit very well after a number of years. Without any teeth left, your jaw bones will continue to shrink over time which can result in dentures feeling loose, moving a lot, creating sore spots, and requiring that you use a lot of adhesive. Your dentures should fit comfortably, so if they are not, you should call our office to schedule an appointment to make sure they are still fitting correctly. Please don't hesitate to call our office with any questions or concerns you may have about dentures, we are knowledgeable about them and want you to feel confident in your smile.
I know I need dentures, but I still want to eat what I like to eat. Are there options to help people eat better with dentures?
It is true that going from your own teeth to dentures will take some getting used to - especially the eating part. Luckily, there are ways to enhance your dentures so that eating will be easier. To do this, we use dental implants to help stabilize the denture so you can chew and eat significantly better.
I have a set of dentures that I have worn for a long time, but they have recently started to not fit very well. Is it okay for me to keep using a lot of adhesive to hold them in place or can you refit them?
This is a very common question. If you are having to use a lot of adhesives (going through a tube or more every week), then you are probably ingesting too much adhesive. This could, potentially, lead to stomach upset or other health issues if continued long-term. A denture refit after many years, in most cases, is not indicated because the denture teeth are usually ground down, and the denture is just wearing out.
